What A Year!

We're thrilled to reveal that here at Brain Men we ran more professional quiz nights for banks, law firms, accountancy firms, investment houses, companies, charities, educational institutions, school PTAs and private individuals (mostly significant birthdays!) in 2018 than ever before.

So we'd like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone in our fabulous team of lovely Quiz Masters, Quiz Assistants and Question Setters for making that possible - thanks guys!

All our quizzes are special, fun, challenging and entertaining. But our highlight of 2018 has to be helping the National Theatre raise more than £50K in one fantastic night of star-studded quizzing. Several celebrity Quiz Masters contributed by reading our questions via video link.

Here's the amazingly talented Rory Kinnear doing a delightfully deadpan delivery, asking one of our faves (click on comments for the answer):

Quiz Biz Heats Up

Here at Brain Men - The Quiz Professionals, we've had a rush of quizzes commissioned for both the corporate and charity sectors. Here are some of the recent highlights...
Air New Zealand commissioned us to run a quiz for around 100 guests from the travel trade to help publicise their sponsorship of the All Blacks. We produced a lively, shorter format, pub-style quiz which lasted 45 minutes and kept everyone entertained and engaged.
Investment fund admin specialists Cofunds held their annual autumn quiz in the City of London. A social occasion for colleagues, our Brain Men Quizmaster for the occasion was Marcus Berkmann.
Still in the City, the world's largest asset manager BlackRock asked us to produce a social quiz, again it was for colleagues.
It was BlackRock once more who kindly sponsored a grand pub quiz in the City for almost 300 people, raising thousands for CHaL - Children's Hospices across London - a most excellent cause. Chris Pollikett was our Quizmaster on that occasion.
The annual English PEN quiz moved venue this year to the recently refurbished St Pancras Hotel. This magnificent location saw 250 journalists, writers, publishers and lawyers raise money for PEN, which fights for writers' rights and freedom of expression across the globe. Journalist and comedian Viv Groskop did a superb job of presenting our quiz on the evening.
The following night we were back in action at the magnificent Reform Club in Pall Mall for the annual Working Families Grand Dinner and Quiz. Working Families helps parents and carers achieve work-life balance, and the quiz raised a substantial sum for the charity.
We rounded off the year with our third visit to the Sadhu Vaswani Centre in Cricklewood for the centre's annual fundraising quiz.

As you can see, Brain Men are the quiz professionals, providing fun and entertainment for client evenings, social events, fundraising evenings and more. All our quizzes are tailor-made to suit your needs, just tell us about your intended audience and we'll do the rest. Our questions are original, accurate, entertaining and thoroughly researched - no reading from quiz books or culling questions off the internet for us!

We have bags of experience, so we can guarantee your night will run smoothly and be a success. As well as traditional questions, we can also provide music rounds, film/TV rounds, and picture rounds, with electronic scoring that will keep your guests on the competitive edge! We can also advise on venues, and help plan your quiz around food and drink breaks.

For more information or a quote for your quiz event, email us at info@brainmen.co.uk, or speak to one of our friendly Quiz Producers on 020 7272 4448.

Brain Men Brain Quiz 2014

Here are some more quizzy photos, this time from the recent 'Brain Quiz 2014', which we organised at the Haberdashers' Hall in the City, raising money on behalf of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

It's the second year we've run the quiz, which attracted twelve teams. The winners were Taylor Thinkers Acquired, who scored 142, comfortably ahead of Schroders in second place with 129, and Simpson Millar in third with 128.

Second Annual SVC Quiz

Here are some pics from the Second Sadhu Vaswani Centre Quiz Night, which we did before Christmas. There were 16 teams this year, the winners were Whatever You Want, who magnanimously donated their cash prize to the Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

The verdict from SVC? 'Still getting compliments on your behalf... participants really enjoyed the Quiz Night.'

Children In Crisis Quiz 2013

Here are a few snaps from the quiz we ran for Children in Crisis the other week, raising tons of dosh for a very worthy cause. Our Quizmaster for the evening, which was held at the Holiday Inn, Russell Square, was the redoubtable Marcus Berkmann, with Lord Archer overseeing the charity auction.

English PEN Quiz 2013

Here are a few snaps from last week's English PEN quiz, held at RIBA and hosted by Clive Anderson. We Brain Men get involved by writing the quiz and twiddling the technical knobs, ensuring that 250 writers, authors, literary agents and journos have a splendid evening, and empty their wallets for a good cause.

This year's winners were The Telegraph, scoring a whopping 60 out of 70, with The Guardian/Observer and The Literary Review both narrowly pipped to second place on 59.

Quiz News

A lot's been happening since we last updated these pages!

First off, here at Brain Men we often assist charities with their fundraising events. So we're proud to be associated with Help for Heroes and their upcoming Big Hero Quiz. You can find out more by clicking here, although please note, the questions we wrote for them are quite a bit harder than the examples they've used on their website!

And earlier this month we held a quiz at Goldsmiths College in London on behalf of the Association of University Engineers. Our Quizmaster was Chris Pollikett, who fired off six rounds of ten questions over the course a couple of hours. Appropriately enough, this year's winners were called Last Year's Winners! Here are a couple of snaps:

Original Thinking

That was what was required at the Origin Asset Management Charity Challenge 2013 last week, where 70 of the City's best brains gathered to do battle with our fiendish quiz questions for the chance to donate £2000 to a charity of their choice. Mercer FSJeeves were the winning quiz team, with an impressive score of 78 out of a potential 80, donating their well-deserved winnings to Save the Children.

The Origin quiz followed hot on the heels of Brain Men's first ever intercontinental simulquiz - a four round challenge for staff at a well-known financial institution, held simultaneously by the miracle of modern technology in both London and New York!
