Two Quizzes Brain Men

In the past week we've hosted two quizzes in London, both fundraising for charity. The first, at the Reform Club in Pall Mall, was on behalf of Working Families. The second was for Barclays at the Grange City Hotel next to the Tower of London, who were supporting ABF - The Soldiers' Charity. Both made a heap of money for the charities concerned. In fact Working Families said: 'It’s the best quiz we’ve had to date, and one that raised the most money, so we couldn’t be more delighted!'

Our Brain Men Quizmaster on both occasions was Marcus Berkmann. Here are some pics...

Taking Care Of Quizziness

In the past week we've helped raise money for a children's hospice with a quiz for corporate benefactors, and been booked by a major bank to host a City of London treasure hunt.

We're also working on three quizzes over the next three weeks - another charity fundraiser (at the Reform Club), a quiz for an 85th birthday, and a warmer-upper at a national retailer event for one of the big video game companies.

Origin Charity Challenge Quiz 2012

As promised, here are a few snaps from our dinner quiz for Origin Asset Management last night. It's fair to say that a good time was had by all, which is what we aim for when we put on one of these professional quizzes.

Brain Man Marcus Berkmann was our quizmaster for the evening. ThinkFolio carried off this year's trophy, and a cheque for their chosen charity - Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Thanks to the excellent London Wall Bar & Kitchen for the superb food and wine. And thanks to Origin Asset Management for being such lovely clients!

Original News

The question marks are all dotted for tonight's Origin Asset Management Charity Challenge 2012, at the London Wall Bar and Kitchen.

This will be the third annual dinner quiz we've presented for Origin, who say it's now the highlight of the year for them and their clients. Five rounds of quiz/trivia questions, including three general knowledge, one photo round to mull over during the meal, and a challenging film and TV round with clips shown on the big screen.

It should be an excellent night. We'll show you some photos tomorrow!

Who's A Naughtie Boy Then?

Radio 4 Today presenter James Naughtie (also famed for his on air spoonerisms) fronted up our annual quiz for English PEN last night at the Royal Institute of British Architects.
There wasn't a Jeremy Hunt in sight, although Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Education, was on the Times team.

Top three scores on the doors, in what is designed to be one of our toughest quizzes of the year, were: The Agile Agents (A P Watt) (64/75), The Telegraph (63/75) and The Times (63/75). Bottom of the heap of 23 teams were Bloomberg (34/75).
Congratulations to everyone who took part - tons of money was raised for English PEN (which does splendid work campaigning for press freedom around the world) through ticket sales, joker rounds and new membership sign-ups.

Kelkoo Coo Over Our Journalists' Quiz

We've had some great feedback from Kelkoo, the price comparison people, following the dinner quiz we designed for national journalists in London on Thursday. It's the second year Kelkoo have hired us for this key event in their PR calendar.

Kelkoo spokeswoman Laura McDonnell writes: 'Just a note to let you know that last night’s quiz was another roaring success! All went smoothly, and the host Iain Lee got to grips really well with the questions. Everyone was happy with the level too – challenging enough for the ones who took it more seriously, but with enough in there to keep the more laid back teams happy, and to keep everyone’s interest.'

Winners were the Telegraph... they've got a table at Monday's Colman Getty PEN Quiz too, so they're clearly Brain Men fans!

Associated British Ports Quiz 2011

Burleigh Court Hotel and Conference Centre, part of the University of Loughborough campus, was the setting for our latest quiz on behalf of Associated British Ports, presented by our quizmaster Chris Pollikett.

Eight ABP teams rounded off their conference dinner with an all-singing, all-dancing quiz which included a music clips round, TV and film clips round, and a photo round.

The atmosphere was highly competitive, with the team that had been leading for most of the quiz pipped to the post at the last minute on the final round.
